After seeing my Brocken Spectre for the first time about 10 years ago, I worked out the conditions needed and how to make it appear.

1 You need a cloud inversion and the sun to shine
2 Position yourself so your shadow falls onto the cloud
3 Wave your arms to see your rainbow halo - or brocken spectre
However, I haven't yet worked out why you only see your own spectre. There were 5 of us working our spectres, but we only saw our own.
